Card grading

Can card shops submit autographed cards for grading?

Some can, but autographs may require authentication, card grading, auto grading, or separate service choices.

Some card shops can submit autographed cards, but the process may be different from a normal card-only submission. The grading company may authenticate the autograph, grade the card, grade the autograph, or offer different label options depending on the item. Search grading submission shops and call with the exact card, signer, certificate status, and whether the autograph was pack-pulled or obtained in person. That distinction can affect the service path.

Ask the shop to explain which service is being purchased and what happens if the autograph does not authenticate. You also need a receipt that lists the card, signature, declared value, fee, insurance, and return process. The card grading explained guide and drop-off receipt FAQ cover the custody questions, but autographs add another layer of risk. Do not assume that a shop selling signed cards automatically handles all autograph services. The right submission is the one whose label and authentication scope match your goal.
