Coverage
Suggest a shop
Local shops are found by people who shop in them. Send us one we are missing and it goes into review — no account, no fee, and no need to be connected to the business.
What belongs in the directory
A physical place a collector can walk into and buy, sell, trade, grade, or play trading cards — sports cards, Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece, Lorcana, vintage, or a shop that runs organised play alongside all of it. Comic and game shops with a real card counter count. So do card shops inside a mall or a larger store, as long as the storefront is genuinely open to the public.
Online-only sellers do not, because there is nothing to map, no hours to check, and no drive to make. Neither do one-off shows, flea-market tables, or a person selling from home — a show or a league night at a listed shop belongs in events, not in the shop directory.
What we need before a listing can go live
Two facts are required outright: a street address and a map location. Without them we cannot send anyone anywhere, so a record that lacks them is not published and is not counted toward the coverage of the city it sits in. Beyond that, a listing has to reach 60% of our completeness score before it is treated as useful, which in practice means the address and map location plus at least one of a phone number, an official website, or opening hours.
You do not have to supply all of that. The single most valuable thing you can add is the shop’s own website, because it is what a reviewer checks the rest against — and it is the only link we publish on a listing. A phone number is the next best thing. The methodology page shows exactly how each fact is weighted, and the thresholds a city or state has to clear before its page is indexed at all.
What happens next
Your suggestion is stored in a review queue, separate from the published directory, and the editors are alerted. It is not published on submission and nothing you send appears publicly. An editor checks the shop against its own website and other public sources, fills in the facts a listing needs, and creates the record. It goes live once it clears the completeness bar above; if it does not, it stays in the queue rather than being published thin, and a shop we cannot verify at all is left out entirely.
A published listing does not necessarily mean a published city page. A city is only indexed once it has at least 2 listed shops with at least 50% of them complete — one shop in a town is better served by its own profile than by a “card shops in…” page with a single result. So your suggestion may be live as a shop before the town around it is. We do not publish a turnaround time, because how long it takes depends on how much of the shop is verifiable from public sources.
What we will not publish
Anything we cannot stand behind. A business name that mentions cards or gaming is not evidence a card shop exists there, and a listing that sends someone to a closed unit is worse than no listing. Another directory may help us discover a shop, but it does not decide what CardShopMap publishes, and a suggestion cannot buy a placement — paid units render in labeled slots and never move a shop up an organic list.
Already listed, or is it yours?
Search the directory first. If the shop is there but something is wrong, send a correction instead — it reaches an editor faster because there is nothing to match up. If you run the shop, claim the listing and edit it directly. Claiming and accuracy are free forever.
