How do grading submissions work through a West Virginia card shop?

A shop that handles submissions sends your cards to a grading company such as PSA, Beckett, CGC or SGC and brings them back; the grade itself comes from the company, not the shop. Ask which company the shop submits to, what the fee and insurance cover, and get a written receipt that lists every card before you leave them.

What to look for

A clear answer on insurance in transit

Who insures the cards on the way there and back, and to what value. This is the question most likely to reveal a shop that has not thought it through.

Honesty about turnaround

Grading turnaround times fluctuate and no shop controls them. A shop that quotes a firm date is either guessing or repeating a marketing figure.
